It's 80's Day at School Today....

Such attitude...

She wanted a picture with her certificate, 100% on her spelling test, yippee! I'm so proud of her!

A friend of mine gave me a sock tip that she saw on pinterest so I thought I'd try it out on Mylee...

I think it turned out cute and it was super easy. I used a really thick sock so her curls are loose and wavy. Next time I'm going to use a smaller sock so her curls are tighter, like small baby leg warmers.

She is hilarous and makes me laugh all the time. I don't know where she comes up with the things she says, but I love it. She can get a bit crazy at times and she'll do anything to make you laugh, & she has the best giggle! She is a smarty pants and catches on to things fairly quick, especially since she listens to everything Brooklyn is learning in school, she has already picked up on a little reading and spelling. She loves her sisters and hates being alone. Mylee has quite the imagination and likes to make up stories sometimes, like when just the other day I asked her how she got a scratch on her neck, she said, "A baby bear came to my school and scratched me!... But don't ask my teacher about it." She is an absolute daddy's girl & if I'm the only one around she likes me too:) She is the sweetest thing in the morning, she'll crawl into bed with me, cuddle up close and sweetly smile. Or she'll yell "Cock A Doodle Doo It's A Morning!" She can be uncontrollably loud at times and she thinks the louder she cries the worse her injury is or the more the other person will get in trouble, but daddy can always calm her down. If she is playing by herself she is usually singing and I love secretly listening to her sweet little voice. She genuinely loves her friends and family and she is always suggesting things to give others because "it will make them so happy" She loves doing crafts and art activities. She is left handed which makes it easy for her to write her words backwards alot, but I love her cute little handwriting. Basically I just adore everything about this little girl and I'm so happy that she's mine! Happy Birthday Mylee girl! We love you so much!

Mylee turned 4!

I can't believe she just recently turned 4 because it seems like she has been 4 for months already

She started her day with breakfast in bed, which she requested a donut with blue sprinkles, and also made sure that I brought enough for Brooklyn too so she could eat in her bed with her We had a tea party for her Birthday party and we only invited a few girls so that way they could do more fun things like go to the salon and get makeovers since they needed looked their best for afternoon tea....

After the hair, make-up & nails we headed back where the girls dressed up in their tutu's, boa's and they decorated their own hats.

It was really cute watching them try their best to be proper... saying please & thank you, only taking small bites, and drinking with their littles pinkies raised

The next day we had another party too with cousins and grandparents. Thank you everyone who made Mylee feel special on her Birthday. We are so lucky to have so many good friends and family in our life!

We were there for over 4 hours and they still didn't want to leave

The one who was tired & teething was the only exception, but she lasted longer than I expected

Halloween Fun!

Trick or treating was really fun this year because our girls were really into it. Not too mention the weather was superb! Mylee was a trick or treating machine and she was too fast for all of us to keep up with. She sprinted from house to house yelling things like, "This is the best day ever!" & "I will never stop!" She would try and scare the people when they opened the door by hiding and jumping out and saying "Boo!" as they opened their doors. Then she would just giggle & if you have ever heard her giggle you know it is loud and contagious. She was so cute that people didn't mind that she usually grabbed 3 handfuls of candy at each door. Anistyn loved it too, she kept looking in her pumpkin at all her candy and would squeal with laughter because she is not used to everyone giving her so many treats!
Her hat didn't stay on long, and there was no way she was holding her broom, so instead of looking like a cute little witch, she kinda just looks like a cute little punk rocker

We all got to watch Brooklyn at her school for the Halloween parade, there are some pretty creative parents out there when it comes to costumes!

Mylee had a party at her school too and both her teachers were witches so she felt pretty cool to be in the witch club...

Kids definitely make holidays more fun!

We were invited to a scavenger hunt/murder mystery dinner date this year and it was one of the funnest dates I've ever been on!

There were about a dozen groups with 6-8 people in each group and we all dressed as clue characters. They sent us on a wild goose chase throughout provo & orem giving us several clues along the way to help us figure out the case... Our group won! We got a basket of goodies and this means we get to host next years event! So be prepared cuz EVERYONE we know is invited to attend!

BREAKING NEWS!

A horrible crime has just been committed at the Trost residents

We have the mug shots of the 3 suspects involved...

Reportedly Mafia Mylee came up with the entire plan. Exiting the house through the garage and urging Gangsta-B & ShortyWannaBe(like her big sisters) to follow
Here are some photo's taken at the crime scene, aka the driveway

We were unable to take pictures of the cars because, Kevin Trost, the owner of the vehicle's panicked and drove them to the carwash as soon as possible before the paint could dry. It was a disaster to say the least.

How does the trio of trouble plead their case?

ShortyWannaBe(like her big sisters) is currently pleading the 5th and playing as if she was an innocent victim in the case, the fingerprints(and footprints) prove otherwise

GansgtaB: "You never let us paint!"

Mafia Mylee: "I just wanted to fingerpaint!"

All 3 of them were covered in black paint at the scene, and 2 have already admitted guilty to the crime. We were unable to get pictures of the criminals during the act due to their panicked mother who immediatley through them in the tub. Now that they are all cleaned up we can identify the criminals....

The punishment has already been decided and they are spending the night in jail (grounded to their room for the rest of the night)

To this day this has been the worst act of crime performed by these three thugs. Both cars have been cleaned even bettter then they looked before this mess. The driveway on the other hand....who knows if it will ever be the same?

Don't y0u just hate when you're clothes look a million times better on someone else?

especially when that someone else is nearly 9 months preggers

I've never really been a fan of maternity pictures

I don't understand why I would ever want to see a picture of myself with a big fat belly

Instead of cleaning my house, my baby, and my annoying eye. I decided to just blog about if for a minute.

But I don't want to sound like I'm being negative. The good thing is that we get to remodel our basement now and I get to wear sunglasses everywhere I go. Soooo hollywood!

It sucks our basement flooded but I am thankful to have a house to flood.

I can't think of anything good about pink eye, other than it's waaaay better than cancer so I'll take it;)

She's a kindergartner The school mascot welcomed the kids for their 1st day!
Some familiar friends in her class!

Although she has been extremely anxious & excited to start kindergarten pretty much her entire life, I think she realized this morning that she is growing up.

She kept making random comments all morning...

"Mom pretty soon I'll be in college, that's too soon!"

"I'm scared to be a teenager cuz I don't want zits!"

"I'm not ready for college!"

"When I get my driver's license I can drive to school all by myself!"

"When I'm done with college I am going to move to Washington"

"Mom you better make sure to have fun with me everyday while I still live with you, (worried) What if you don't?!"

"I don't even know who I am going to marry yet!"

That is just a glimpse of our conversations this morning & I had to reassure her that it'll be ok and to be kid as long as she can. I had to pretend that I'm not just as worried about this stuff as she is too. I just love this girl & I hope I do cherish every moment with her while she is growing up. Just don't grow up too fast:(

For one of our resolutions for 2011 Kevin and I made the goal of running 1 thousand miles this year between the 2 of us. We have a little chalk board that we keep track of our miles on and we are up to..... We ran this 1/2 marathon which helped with the numbers...
We are a little bit behind but it's still doable, hopefully we can reach our goal!

who is your most favorite person in the entire world?

my 2 big sisters for sure. they just get me like no one else. they make me laugh all day and always include me in everything. of course i'm just as big as them and can do anything they do too

if you could go on a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?

i would probably just walk out in the middle of the street, but my mommy never lets me

what is your favorite food?

anything that i can feed to myself, i really like whatever mommy eats too, and especially when my big sisters sneak me candy. alot of people call me a bottomless pit.

what do you want to be when you grow up?

i love to sing and dance and make people laugh, so maybe i'll grow up to be just like my daddy

i love any and all animals. i love when my mom takes me to see them at the farms. i loved playing with my dog tarzan too, but mommy got rid of him. i used to play with him all day long... who cares if he pees on the carpet, it's natural right?

i still don't know what the purpose of clothing is, i'm not ashamed of my body and i'm not afraid to show it. it's so annoying when my mommy gets me dressed

i love to play peek-a-boo, especially when i hide under a blanket. i love every toy in the world but my favorite thing to play with recently is any type of ball. balls are awesome!

hey soul sister and baby by justin beiber. my mommy always sings me that taylor swift song too... never grow up.

what is your biggest thing you accomplished during your first year of life?

i can walk, my favorite words are "uh oh" and "thank you" and of course "hi" & "bye" i completely graduated from nursing, the bottle, and the binky! plus i sleep 12+ hours at night and have been most my life

i would say i just want to get cuter, but i think i'm already maxed out on cuteness, so maybe i'll just work on my dance moves like my cute booty shake

i love water and i love to go swimming but i hate baths. especially when mommy washes my hair.

The girls have a soccer class they take together & they love it

Although, they do call it baskball all the time, any sport with a ball in it is baskball to them

When they are not running around like crazy kids, or twisting their knee, they are pretty good and they really enjoy it.

But I think Anistyn likes it more than anybody! She can dribble the soccer ball perfectly. She doesn't know she is dribbling, just chasing the ball and giggling all the way!

She's 5!

A few months back we were at the mall and Brooklyn stared in the window of Claires and watched some girls get there ears pierced. She begged and begged to get them done that day and insisted she wasn't going to leave the mall until her ears were pierced. So we suggested maybe for her birthday. She definitely didn't forget about it. Nearly everyday up until her Birthday she talked about getting them pierced, so the day finally arrived.

Here is the last picture of Brooklyn with no earrings...And the first picture of her with earrings.

It's kind of a confused smile cuz everyone (except me) told her it wouldn't hurt and she whispered in my ear "that kind of hurt"

regardless, she loves them. She was really brave and didn't cry, & she tells everyone it didn't even hurt at all.She woke up to the traditional Birthday breakfast in bed and a visit from the "Birthday Balloon Fairy" who floods her room with balloons while she's asleepThese 2 look so much alike & it just makes me realize how fast time goes by. I remember when Brooklyn was this little baby girl, and now my baby's 5!

I know it's not the healthiest breakfast, but what the Birthday girl wants the Birthday girl gets.

& now for the PARTAY!!!

Since we had it a Classic Fun Center all the kids wore these stickers...

Afterwards Brooklyn & Mylee handed out all the extra cupcakes to roller-bys...

Our cousins & friends came into town and we headed to... Aspen Grove!

It's basically EFY for families

We had a great time!

The camp counselors take your kids all day and do activities with them like swimming, crafts, games, and they teach them skits...

Since the kids are doing their own thing, it gave us grown-ups time do do our thing...

hiking, raquet ball, rope course, basketball, aeroball, the ideas are endless...

We had to slide down this glacier to reach the falls, I love the wet marks on the bum here

But as you can see, it was worth all the work in getting there

Stephanie, my mom, and I (plus Fia And Nick not pictured) all ran a 5k over memorial weekend and we all placed and receieved metals! I know... What the??

My mom and I placed 2nd in our age groups, and Steph placed 3rd!

Good thing I'm not 30 yet cuz those 30+ year olds smoked me!

The last day of school they had a beach party and got to bring their own beach towels so of course she had to get dressed up all hollywood style...

The end of the year perfermance was circus themed so she did a bunch of circus tricks... she is jumping through fire here

She new all the songs really well

Mylee is really good at memeorizing songs

In fact when she was 2 years old she could tell you what song belonged to any princess movie within listening to only a few notes. And she could recite the song the whole way through!

Monday Make-up Day! my girls love make up

they love getting into mine

i've come up with a solution to only let them put make up on on mondays

just there own disney princess make-up & the cheap dollar store stuff

since monday make-up day has emerged, they have not gotten into mine, woo hoo

& they look forward to it all week

but whatever you do,

do NOT tell them they look like clowns

it will be very traumatic to their sensitive little princess hearts

I never thought I'd be that whiny woman who thinks she is SO old, but that was totally me this year.

for my birthday

It started out in the morning when my mom surprized me at my doorstep with BREAKFAST IN BED! and she told me that she was my "slave" for the day

Then Kevin arrived home from being out of town for a few days and when he heard that my mom was my birthday slave for the day, he surprized her by requesting her to spend the night with our girls. Of course my mom is AWESOME and happily said she would and my girls LOVED every second of it

The rest of my day included...

shopping

thai food

buffalo burgers

a stay at a posh place in park city with our own hot tub!

(I dunno know why the only picture we took was in the hot tub)

oh and AN AFTERNOON NAP! what a luxury!

But it didn't end there...

My family and I went to a temple sesh

& afterwards I was treated to dinner at Magleby's Restaurant!

and the spoiling continues onto the next day

with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory!

Brooklyn & Mylee loved it especially because they found their

"most favorite and perfect hiding spot"

I could go on even more listing all the sweet birthday wishes I recieved, help with my kiddo's that day, returning home to a clean house & folded laundry, gift card to coldstone & jamba juice, and so on.....

Thank you everyone who made me feel so SPECIAL on my birthday, I really don't deserve any of you but I'm so thankful to be blessed with all the loving people in my life

And even though I'm feeling a little old at 29, the only thing I really miss about being younger is the quicker metabolism. Other than that my life is completely, absolutely, without a doubt

While I'm catching up, I can't forget these milestones...

Brooklyn learned how to ride a bike with no training wheels! Alot of her friends learned how to do this last Summer

When I would ask Brooklyn if she wanted me to help her learn how to ride with no training wheels, she just casually said "I'm not ready yet"

Then one day she came to me out of the blue and said

"Mom I'm ready to learn how to ride my bike without training wheels!"

The only thing is she told me in the middle of Winter, so we had to wait for the snow to go away & warm up a little

Finally there was a good day

We went to the church parking lot

She was really excited/nervous/frustrated

She did pretty good for her first time, but definitely wasn't taking off

She didn't understand why she wasn't riding all over the place like her friends were. She was upset and she kept saying

"Mom, Anna learned her first time"

I kept reminding her that even her friends had to work at it and practice

I thought she did great riding 5 parking spaces by herself

The next day we had a go at it she did pretty much just take off! It took a little getting used to for her to turn, start, and stop but she's a pro now!

I'm so proud of her & I love that she can ride her bike while I run (chase her), she went 3 1/2 miles with me the other day and she would have kept going too! I love it!

Another milestone...

I just love everything about this baby!

I love her sweet personality and when she tells me stories in her babbling language

I love her tiny hands and feet

I love when she makes kissing sounds and high fives

She loves toys and I love watching her play with them... especially dolls & animals, she hugs them so tight and they make her so happy

I love when she accidently turns on music on my ipod and sings and dances along

She adores her sisters and I love that when I caught all of them together, sneaking candy and eating it in a huddle, Brooklyn & Mylee took off running, but Anistyn smiled so big, got so excited and crawled to me as fast as she could!

I love her laugh & no one can make her giggle harder than her sisters!

I love her chubby little baby body! She has a little birthmark on that bum... So cute!

I love how cuddly she is!

She can stand on her own and is trying to walk

She cruises around the furniture and on her little walking toy

She really is the most perfect and sweet baby, and by far my favorite right now! (haha)

I can't believe she will be 1 year old soon!

Still catching up...

Mother's Day!

I had the best Mother's Day

How could I not with these little angels...Kevin built me a garden and laid the soil

The girls and I planted everything together

I'm a virgin gardener so hopefully it works out

I already used some lettuce and cilantro from the garden on our tostada salads the other night

My favorite part of the garden is the flower that Brooklyn painted me at school

She was so excited to give it to me it's all she talked about for the week before

She didn't tell me what it was only that she painted it all by herself and that it was a special surprize

It was so cute when I picked her up from school and she was carrying a large present wrapped in bright blue paper, and she made sure I didn't peek

Every morning she asked "Is it Mother's Day!" We had to wait 3 whole days to open it!

We also went to a Mother's Day brunch at a Mexican restuarant

Little did we know that they were throwing a big fiesta for all the madre's

That's when our friends pointed out..

"How is it that whenever we hang out with the Trost's, there is always a disco ball involved somehow!"

What can I say? We like to party!

The kids had a blast break dancing

Even though we were the only gringas there, our hips certainly did not lie!

Lindsey even won a prize in the dance contest

which bummed me out cuz I was trying so hard!

I just can't compete with her sexiness... all the homeboys agreed!

This year I decided on keeping the girls dresses cheap & easy (just like daddy;)

But if you ask me sometimes the more simple the better.

All 3 dresses cost me less than $20 & I made matching hair bows and tote bags for the girls church goodies.

I really like how they turned out... plus, my girls can make anything look cute, so it doesn't matter what I make!

Anistyn would only smile if she was holding a toy, which covered 1/2 her dress

I made these the other day & they were super yummy!

They were tons of fun to make too, especially cuz I got to use my cooking torch that I've had since we got married & haven't used until now.

If you like s'mores, you'll LOVE these, even if you don't like s'mores.. you will.

Try it...

Ingredients:
1 cup sour cream
4 eggs
½ cup water
½ cup canola oil
1 devil's food cake mix
1 small box instant chocolate pudding
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
¼ cup sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 bag mini semisweet chocolate chips

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 24 muffin tins with cupcake liners; set aside.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, oil, sour cream and water. Mix until well combined.

3. Add cake mix and chocolate pudding and mix on medium speed until well blended, about 2 minutes.

4. Place graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter in a large bowl; stir until well combined.

5. Place 1 tablespoon graham cracker mixture into the bottom of each prepared muffin cup. Use the bottom of a metal spoon to pack crumbs into the bottom of each cupcake liner. Reserve remaining graham cracker mixture for topping.

6. Place 1 teaspoon chocolate chips in each muffin cup. Transfer muffin tins to oven and bake until the edges of the graham cracker mixture is golden, about 5 minutes.

7. Remove from oven and fill each muffin cup three-quarters full with cake batter. Sprinkle each with remaining graham cracker mixture and a few chocolate chips. Return to oven and bake until tops are firm and a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 15 to 18 minutes. Transfer muffin tins to a wire rack and let cupcakes cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pan and let cool completely.

8. Prepare marshmallow frosting.

9. Transfer frosting to a large pastry bag fitted with a large plain round or star tip. Pipe frosting in a spiral motion on each cupcake. Transfer cupcakes to a baking sheet. Using a kitchen torch, lightly brown the frosting, taking care not to burn the cupcake liners. You can also quickly brown the frosting under the broiling element in your oven. Preheat the broiler to hi. Place cupcakes about 6 inches below the broiler element. While watching constantly, broil the cupcakes for about 2 minutes until the tops are browned. Do not walk away while the cupcakes are browning! They will burn very quickly.

Marshmallow Frosting Ingredients:
Ingredients:
8 large egg whites
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extrac
Method:
1. Place egg whites, sugar, and cream of tartar in the heatproof bowl of an electric mixer. Set over a saucepan with simmering water. Whisk constantly until sugar is dissolved and whites are warm to the touch, 3 to 4 minutes. 2. Transfer bowl to electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, and beat, starting on low speed, gradually increasing to high, until stiff, glossy peaks form, 5 to 7 minutes. Add vanilla, and mix until combined. Use immediately.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs...

So a few people have come over to my house, seen some projects I've done, and the first thing they say is "And you didn't blog this?"

So I am going to do a few posts of a few projects I've done lately

After all I love seeing people post the projects they do, and it is where I get 1/2 my ideas!...

I have made a few wood signs lately...

These are displayed in our dining room to remind the kiddos to use their manners,

It works too, Mylee looks at the sign and says "Yes please can you get me some more milk?"

At least she's got the concept This one is in our living room. I love it. I like BIG decorations that make a statement when you walk into the room. This is 2 ft x 4 ft This sign is 3 ft. x 4 ft. I have it hanging in the nursery Since the nursery already had stars on the walls, I thought it went perfectly...

Just a big piece of wood, a little paint, some TLC and walaah!

One of my new year resolutions was to be more organized.

Part of that was to have the girls help me with some chores around the house

I got each of them a jar, and for each chore they do, they get a bean

There chores are pretty simple like putting shoes away, hanging up jacket, clearing off dinner plate, putting dirty clothes in hamper, putting clean clothes away, etc...

Each week at Family Home Evening (which is another resolution) they bring there jars to daddy & for each bean they get 10 cents

They set some aside for tithing, and then put the rest in their piggy banks.

I've been asking them what they want to get with their money, and they just kept saying they want to save it. Finally, they decided it was time to go buy some toys with their hard earned money.

We packed up every last penny in their purse & fanny pack and headed out to the store Thanks to coupons, clearance sections, and Kohls cash, we were able to score this vtech art station (regularly $89.99) for $20!!! Brooklyn loves it!

Mylee was able to get some Littlest pet shop toys!

She loves them too! I'm so proud of my girls for working so hard!

They actually earned most their money selling water to people driving by our house...

Last week Brooklyn came and asked me how to spell "Fresh Water"

Next thing I know her and Mylee had a table set up in our driveway with a sign saying "Fresh Water" all our bottled water, and bubble gum. They would jump up and down waving the water bottles and say "fresh water!" to everyone that drove by. They made about $5 selling water and bubble gum. That's worth 50 chores!

HEOOP!

Rex Lee Run! Our cancer fighter we ran in honor of was Sunday Dargel Nick's mom who is an inspiration

Speaking of inspiration...

My mom won a medal for finishing in 3rd place for her age group! woot! woot! So what is HEOOP?...

It's only one of the best things EVER!

My mom, sisters & I started a group where we help eachother out with our health & fitness goals.

Each week we workout together, set goals, and are accountable for reaching our goals which includes a weekly weigh in as a group.

We mix up the work outs like kickboxing, running, hip hop, weight training, zumba, hiking, etc... & we support and encourage each other all the way!

It's awesome...

As a group we have lost over 25 lbs. together, about 4% body fat, and nearly 35 inches! Boo Yeah!

We also have incentives like last month whoever lost the most % body fat earned a full body massage.

This month the winner of most inches lost gets there car fully detailed! I so hope I win!

I recommend a HEOOP group for everyone!

QUESTIONS ANSWERED...

I've had a few questions about my recent blog posts, so just in case you were wondering....

Q: Why are Brooklyn & Mylee crying at Kevin's Bday breakfast in bed?
A: They're girls. They're emotional sometimes. Mylee woke up Brooklyn singing happy birthday to daddy. Brooklyn clearly wasn't ready to wake up so she was super grumpy and cuddled next to daddy. Mylee wanted to cuddle next to daddy, not realizing he has 2 shoulders so she burst into tears. Then mommy got the camera out which made them both mad. 20 seconds later, they were all smiles... I think this is just a taste of what the teenage years are going to be like with my girls. Major mood swings.

Q: Why are you jumping on the bed with shoes in vegas?
A: It was a hotel. I'm pretty sure way worse things have made it onto that bed. Just sayin'

Q: Are you singing karaoke at a bar with kids?
A: It's Wing Nutz.

Q: What kind of a mother lets her daughter dance around barefoot at a bar?
A; The kind of mother that had to get over it real quick when their child spilled root beer in her boots. Not a bar. Wing Nutz.

Q: What's Brooklyn wearing in your Vday pictures?
A: A swim suit. We are dying for summertime here.

Ashley had a Birthday so she and Brian invited us to vegas for the weekend!

We went to Cirque Du Soleil Mystere

It was unreal

Basically it's a bunch of freaks of nature who have abnormal strength and flexiblilty that is out of this world!

Awesome!

We also saw 2 movies, which is a luxury when you have kids

Speaking of luxury...

I may have spent a good 12 hours at the QUA spa at Ceasers:)

Kevin & I have some great resolutions which include reading the Book of Mormon together and also running 1000 miles between the 2 of us.

I like to take things day by day

Everyday I ask myself what my top priority is that day and what I can do to be more organized.

Brooklyn emptied her piggy bank and loaded her change into her princess fanny pack

She was so excited to buy presents with her own money, she made sure she told everyone in the store it was her own money, not moms. I even let her wrap them herself.

They were SO cute explaining all the reasons they got what for who.

Santa told Brooklyn she was on the good list & she is absolutely thrilled to say the least. She has been extra sweet ever since cuz she wants to stay on the good list. She has told me she loves me a million times and insists on helping me with everything, as well as giving me lots of kisses & cuddles. Last year I copied cute Lynsi & made an advent calander almost as cute as the one she made..

Don't mind #11. I found the box top in the backyard under the snow last year so it's in the process of being replacedEach box has a sweet little treat & a Christmas activity to do that day.

Everyday my girls are so excited and ask what we are going to do that day
